IHNSW Player Code of Conduct
As a player, you are a representative of Ice Hockey NSW and your respective Club. As such, you must conduct yourself within their governing rules, regulations, policies and procedures, and agree to:
Adhere to the IHNSW rules, regulations, policies and procedures as well as by-laws and decisions as determined by the IHNSW Committee of Management.
Treat players, opponents, coaches, officials, parents and other spectators, regardless of race, sex or creed with respect, relative to abusive language, gestures and actions.
Not argue with an official’s decision. I will treat officials as honest in their intentions and accept official decisions without displaying verbal and / or physical outbursts of anger.
Learn teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline and respect whilst playing for fun. Be a team player and get along with my team members. Appreciate and support the contribution each person makes to the team.
Be on time to all games and practices. Be physically and mentally ready to work hard to improve my skills.
Be dependable. Give coaches advance notice of upcoming absences.
Learn the rules and play by them. Always be a good sport and set a good example. Understand that any behaviour that reflects poorly on my team or IHNSW may result in disciplinary action as decided by the coach or the IHNSW Tribunal, including the use of social media and the internet.
Understand that winning is desirable, but that winning at any cost defeats the purpose of the game. I will learn to lose with dignity and to win with grace.
Understand that in Ice Hockey, as in life, I should treat others as I would have others treat me.
Violation of this code of conduct or any action that is detrimental to Ice Hockey in NSW may result in player suspension or termination from any or all of IHNSW activities.
IHNSW Coach and Team Manager Code of Conduct
The coach / manager of a team may be the second most influential person in a player’s life. Coaches, through their own behaviour (on and off the ice) have an enormous impact on the development of young players.
In establishing a solid foundation of character building with players, the key responsibility of any coach is to lead by example. This holds true at all levels of development. The responsibilities and duties of a coach are not simple and should be dealt with in a professional manner.
For these reasons and many more, Ice Hockey NSW has developed a Code of Ethics for all coaches / managers participating in IHNSW endorsed and organised tournaments, development programs and special events. These principles are considered practicable and are within the aims and objectives of this Association.
Supervise the behaviour of the team at all times.
Do not criticise players in front of spectators, parents and other teams. Review constructive criticism with a player in private or in the presence of the team.
Accept decisions of the Referees as being fair and called to the best of their ability. Do not abuse or ridicule the Referees and Officials.
Develop team respect for opponents, spectators and officials. Do not criticise other teams, supporters or officials by words or gestures.
Set a good example in personal appearance and behaviour.
Encourage sportsmanlike behaviour among the players.
Ensure whenever possible all players have equal time on the ice. Avoid overplaying the talented players – the average players need and deserve equal time.
Encourage players to work together as a unified group (teamwork).
Keep yourself informed of sound coaching principles and seek more skilled advice when necessary.
Must be conversant with the IHA Anti Doping Policy.
Must abide by all IHNSW Concussion Policy requirements including completing the Concussion Course and ensuring all players follow the Return to Play Protocols
IHNSW Parent Code of Conduct
As a parent of a player, you are a representative of Ice Hockey NSW and your respective Club. As such, you must conduct yourself within their governing rules, regulations, policies and procedures, and agree to:
Adhere to the IHNSW rules, regulations, policies and procedures as well as by-laws and decisions as determined by the IHNSW Committee of Management.
Be a positive role model to the players, display emotional maturity and be alert to the physical safety of players.
Promote and maintain a drug and alcohol free sports environment for the team.
Treat players, opponents, coaches, officials, parents and other spectators, regardless of race, sex or creed with respect, relative to abusive language, gestures and actions.
Not argue with an official’s decision. I will treat officials as honest in their intentions and accept official decisions without displaying verbal and / or physical outbursts of anger.
Show a positive attitude toward the game and all of its participants by not yelling at players, coaches or officials.
Know and study the rules of the game and support the officials on and off the ice. This approach will help in the development and support of the game. Any criticism of the officials only hurts the game.
Encourage my child to play by the rules.
Applaud a good effort in both victory and defeat and enforce the positive points of the game. Never yell or physically abuse my child after a game or practice. Work toward removing the physical and verbal abuse in youth sports.
Recognise the importance of the volunteer coaches. They are important to the development of my child and the sport. Communicate with them and support them, but leave the coaching to the coaches. Do not coach from the stands.
Not be critical of the game or other players in front of my children or other players. If I have a problem, speak directly to the coach, or respective club official.
Violation of this code of conduct or any action that is detrimental to the sport in NSW may result in suspension or termination from any or all of IHNSW activities.
IHNSW Clearance Policy
Each player is responsible to ensure they are cleared to play for the Club they are registering for.
If you have played Ice Hockey for another NSW Club, or State in Australia, you will require a clearance to be completed.
If you have played for another Country, or were born in another Country, you will require an International Clearance.

Players and Goalies are not eligible to take the ice in games until they have an approved clearance to IHNSW. IHNSW will respond within 24 hours to all clearance requests.
LCC Saints Ice Hockey Club membership information
As a member of LCC Saints Ice Hockey Club
It is a condition of membership that you be a member of the Liverpool Catholic Club (LCC). Sign up via the Liverpool Catholic Club website.
If you are under 18 years of age one parent or guardian must also be a member of the LCC.
In the event of my admission as a member, I agree to be bound by the rules of the association of the time being enforced, including, but not limited to, the Liverpool Catholic club and LCC Saints constitution and by-laws.
Waiver of liability
On becoming a member, I agree that as a term of my membership to LCC Saints Ice Hockey Club (LCCSIHC) that:
LCCSIHC (including Committee Members) is absolved from all liability, actions, suits, proceedings, claims, demands, losses, damages, penalties, costs, and
Expenses however arising, that I may have or had, but for this release arising from or in connections with my membership with the LCCSIHC, and/or
Participation in any LCCSIHC, authorised or recognised activity whether caused or contributed to, directly or indirectly, by any act or omission (including negligence) on the part of LCCSIHC, except to the extent that the Trade Practice Act 1974(Cth) or other legislation applies, and cannot by contract be excluded.
I further agree that my membership may be terminated at any time in accordance with the LCCSIHC Constitution.
Child photography consent
Photographs and video footage of your child may take place during, but not limited to, ice hockey and club related games, training sessions, tournaments and LCCSIHC and Liverpool Catholic Club (LCC) promotional activities.
This footage may be for the purpose of educating fellow players, assisting with the coaching and development of players and the team as a whole, promoting the LCCSIHC and the Liverpool Catholic Club.
LCCSIHC may publish photographs and video footage of your child in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, online and hard copy marketing material, on our website, in newspaper articles and informative material for prospective, new and existing members.
In saying this, we do ask that you refrain from taking pictures that include children other than your own child/children (even in the background) in training and development sessions at LCCSIHC training sessions at the LCC Ice Rink.
Photographs and video footage taken by the LCCSIHC will be kept for no longer than is necessary for the above mentioned purposes and will be stored and disposed of securely.

Our complaints handling process
The following steps outline how complaints are managed at LCC Saints Ice Hockey Club.
Person contacts LCC Saints IHC Secretary in writing via email secretary@lccsaints.com.au
Outline summary of issue, time and date of issue, location, parties involved and any supporting information
LCC Saints IHC Secretary acknowledges complaint in writing to Person via email within 24 hours
Unless there are sensitivities involved, LCC Saints IHC Secretary shares complaint information with ALL LCC Saints IHC Committee members via email within 24 hours of receiving the complaint
All LCC Saints IHC Committee members acknowledge complaint within 24 hours of receiving the email from the LCC Saints IHC Secretary
LCC Saints IHC Committee COLLECTIVELY discuss resolution and steps to deliver resolution either:
At monthly Committee meeting, with discussion documented in the meeting’s minutes
Via email
Via text message - eg Facebook Messenger
LCC Saints IHC Secretary contacts Person who submitted complaint in writing with:
Proposed resolution for complaint
Justification for resolution
Who was involved in coming to the proposed resolution eg. IHNSW, Committee, other clubs, other stakeholders
Request to acknowledge proposed resolution of complaint within seven (7) days and description of next steps
If resolution is accepted
Person responds with confirmation within the seven-day window they accept resolution and any next steps implemented
If resolution is NOT accepted
Next steps to resolve issue actioned and timeframe to deliver updated proposed resolution
Updated proposed resolution shared and request to accept proposed resolution communicated in writing via email
Following resolution, LCC Saints IHC Secretary and / or other Committee members involved check in with Person who submitted complaint within one (1) month following the resolution in writing via email
Person responds with any supporting information
LCC Saints IHC Secretary and / other Committee members acknowledge response and any required actions
